Hello everyone! My name is Anannya Debnath and I am a PharmD candidate at St. John's University. My passion for pharmacy began at a young age when I realized how much I looked forward to making a positive impact in others' lives. I have always enjoyed interacting with people and believe that as a pharmacist one must foster trust with patients, demonstrate kindness, empathy, patience, and various other essential qualities. I'm intrigued and excited to witness the advancements in pharmacy practice both now and in the future. My past work experience includes positions at Walgreens and Rite Aid, and I recently joined CVS.
There are several facets within the pharmacy field that catch my interest, such as ambulatory care, psychiatry pharmacy, and oncology pharmacy. I've had the opportunity to delve into these areas completing a challenging pediatric oncology rotation along with two other specialty oncology rotations.
Looking ahead, my aspiration is to practice in an ambulatory care setting. My experience during an ambulatory care rotation at New York Presbyterian was incredibly fulfilling. I cherished the meaningful, warm interactions with patients. What particularly resonated with me in ambulatory care was the ability to sit down with patients and address any questions or concerns they had regarding their diseases or medications.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, trying new foods, painting, and traveling to different destinations. My most recent adventure took me to London and I hope to soak in the scenery, diverse cuisines, and history of Greece, Spain, and Italy in the future.
I'm so excited to see what this learning experience has to offer, especially considering my lifelong struggle with problematic skin. As I'm growing older, I have learned less is definitely more when it comes to skincare, and I'm actively embracing this philosophy to care for my skin for the years to come while indulging in my passion for all things beauty and skincare. Looking forward to a wonderful month of learning and working together!
Hi! My name is Claudia Kwasiborski and I am a 2024 PharmD Candidate at St. John's University. My passion for pharmacy comes from a strong passion for healthcare and being involved in the clinical care interventions for patients. My father is a nurse, which was a very big inspiration for pursuing healthcare, however, my high school science research class brought the world of clinical pharmacy to my attention through the Northwell Health Spark! Challenge in my senior year and led me to apply to pharmacy school. Six years later, I am set to graduate and will be starting as a pharmacy resident at South Shore University Hospital, which feels very full circle.
My work experience includes 5 years at Stop and Shop Pharmacy and 2.5 years at Stony Brook University Hospital. In terms of rotations, I've had experiences in specialized clinical areas like cardiology, surgical critical care, HIV medication therapy managment, and ambulatory care. My focus is learning as much as I can beyond the didactic curriculum, especially when it comes to the impact of pharmacists in special populations.
My career interests include furthering experiences in taking care of special populations and providing meaningful impacts. I would like to complete a PGY2 residency as well and specialize in critical care, internal medicine, or cardiology- and become board certified as well.
Outside of school and work, my personal interests include spending time outdoors, reading, and working out. Additionally, I am excited to complete this rotation because skin care is a passion of mine due to my struggles with difficult acne as a teenager, which led me to do a lot of research about products, ingredients, and treatments! Skin care and self care can be considered 'hobbies' of mine as well!
Sorry I’m a little late to the party! Now that I have access to the forum, I’d love to introduce myself. My name is Yvete Kabarity; I’m a 2020 PharmD candidate from St. John’s University. My passion for pharmacy started when I was a senior in high school. I worked as a technician in my neighborhood pharmacy and a light bulb went on! Since then I have collected experiences in several different fields of pharmacy. I worked for Rite Aid as an intern for approximately 4 years. I then made the transition into specialty pharmacy after accepting an offer that I got from my IPPE community rotation. I’ve also had rotations in managed care, pharmaceutical industry, hospital, as well as ambulatory care settings. What I appreciate about pharmacy is not just the diversity but also the opportunities that pharmacists have nowadays. Counseling patients and having meaningful interactions to help fill the gaps in care is one of the aspects I enjoy most about my profession. For this reason, my aim is to work in ambulatory care settings after graduation. Outside the world of pharmacy, I love spending time with my family. Some of my favorite activities are traveling and going on road trips with my husband and baby girl.
My name is Dirshti Ramchandani and I am currently a 6th year Pharmacy student at St. John's University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Growing up I spent a lot of time at my uncle's pharmacy and observed how compassionate he was towards his career as well as his patients. Seeing him make such a difference in the health care field inspired me to becomes a pharmacist and make an impact on patients. During school, I was part of a professional pharmaceutical fraternity, which helped refine my leadership skills as well as gave me great insight on different career paths pharmacy has. Throughout school I worked as a pharmacy intern at CVS and a independent pharmacy (Rockville Center Pharmacy), where I honed communication skills, multitasking, etc. For my post graduation plans, I recently signed my contract to work as a pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy. However, I will try to pursue towards a residency this coming year because I want to become a clinical pharmacy specializing in Diabetes in an ambulatory care setting. In my free time I love to watch shows on Netflix and Hulu, as well as bake. I look forward to working with all of you this month! Its our last rotation, lets make it a good one!!
Thank you for introducing yourself and telling us about your career aspirations. Also, many thanks for taking a leadership role and sending out the ppt to the group.

My name is Bansi Dhaduk and I am currently a 6th year Pharmacy student at St. John’s University. Growing up, while I’ve always been driven towards the sciences, I have also always had a strong interest in business. In fact, I applied to both pharmacy and business schools and although in the end, I chose Pharmacy, I knew that my ultimate goal was a career that would let me combine both passions. During college, I was part of a sorority where I was able to really grow myself both professionally and personally and enhance my leadership skills. I also worked on campus, interned at CVS Pharmacy, and worked as a Field Marketing Brand Ambassador for Power Crunch. During my APPE rotations, specifically my industry site, is when I knew for certain that I wanted to work in the pharmaceutical industry, and in particular the commercial aspect of pharmacy. Following graduation, I will be completing a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship with Johnson & Johnson with their U.S. Oncology Franchise Marketing team. During my fellowship, I will also be pursuing my MBA degree. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, working out, and watching basketball. I am a huge Harry Potter fan and took advantage of the time at home over the past 2 months by rereading all of the books.
