Hello Everyone!
My name is Taseen Chowdhury and I am a 6th year pharmacy student on rotations. I am currently on an elective rotation with Dr. Cesiro and I am super excited for it! I have heard great feedback from previous students who took this rotation. I am excited to have the freedom to learn about everything that interests me in the oncology world. I have been working at Cohen Children’s Medical Center as a pharmacy intern for over two years now. I also worked at CVS for over 3 years while studying at St. John’s. People always ask why I worked so much in college, but I feel that my work experience has contributed a ton in my pharmacy experience and knowledge.
Some of my interests would be playing basketball, lifting weights, my cat, playing video games, etc.
Hello, my name is Jessica and I am a 6th year pharmacy student from St. John's University. I currently work at Duane Reade as a pharmacy intern and plan to stay in the community post-graduation. Upon graduation, I will probably go straight to work, but I hope to resume traveling soon after.
Hello everyone! My name is Nidhia! I am a sixth year pharmacy student who will be graduating in May 2022. I have an immense interest in the field of dermatology. I am excited to be a part of a rotation that cultivates both my love for pharmacy and skincare. I am unsure as to what my exact place in the pharmacy profession will look like which is why I intend to make the most of all my rotations, in order to discover where my true passion lies.
Thank you Tommy for meeting yesterday along with your partner Jerry at The Sweet Sap. Just like Provence in the Cote d'Azur! Great restaurant choice. Appreciate sharing your personal and career aspirations for the future.
Hello! My name is Xunpeng Li, a 6th year pharmacy student who will be graduating in September 2021. I am currently working in an independent pharmacy in Flushing, NY. In the future, I would like to stay in community and help out more patients with language barriers. Majority of the patients are from China and some Asian countries. Most patients are nice to us and are willing to stay with us. We speak Mandarin and many dialects to explain details regarding medications in daily basis. Ever since the beginning of my job in Flushing 5 years ago, like photography as a personal habit. Even though, I am not a professional photographer. I also like to drive to different places and breath the fresh air. Lastly, I enjoyed watching movies. I think an entertainment or habits contribute to a healthy career path. Movies usually demonstrate philosophy in an entertaining way, so I laughed and could learn some words of wisdom while watching.
Hello everyone, my name is Jerry Lau, and I am a P4 Pharm D. Candidate attending St. John's University. I am currently a Pharmacy Intern at Northwell Health. As a pharmacy student, I was involved in various organizations (IPhO, DIA, ASHP, AMCP, etc.) to learn about the many opportunities that a pharmacy graduate has. Post-graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry. In my free time, I love playing basketball (working on my wicked three-pointer) and trying out the many restaurants in the NYC area. In the future, I hope to travel to many countries, and be exposed to the rich cultures that the world has to offer.
Hi, my name is Leah and I’m currently a pharmacy student, studying in Queens. I work at both CVS and NYP Queens. I’ve been at CVS for about 5 years and NYP for over a year. Outside of school and work, I like to read, dance, and sing. Ooo also, I love watching movies, I’ve learned quite a few languages just from television and entertainment. Upon graduation, I would like to get straight to work. I have always dreamed of traveling and hope to do it a lot more once I graduate.
Hello, my name is Almas Hussain and I am currently a 6th year pharmacy student at St. John’s University. I currently work at Walgreens Pharmacy as an intern. I am highly interested in the Oncology field within pharmacy. Post-graduation, I hope to further my interests within this field. What I hope to gain from this APPE is further understanding of another non-traditional side of pharmacy that I was never exposed to in my academic career. Normally, I travel 2-3 times a year, so this year has been difficult to say the least. I hope to resume my travels once this pandemic is under control.
Hello everyone! My name is Carol Bulakh and I am a sixth year pharmacy student completing my fifth rotation. I currently work at CVS pharmacy as an intern, and I have been working there for about 4 years now. I really enjoy helping people and interacting with different patients everyday. I have also experienced pharmacy practice in an independent pharmacy, which allowed me to have more one on one time with patients compared to in a chain setting. Upon graduation, I hope to stay within retail, and hopefully save enough to open my own pharmacy one day. Outside pharmacy practice, some of my other hobbies include traveling, reading books, and trying different foods!
Hello everyone! My name is Michelle Huang and it’s a pleasure to meet you all. I currently work at CVS and also have prior experience working in a managed care setting at Metroplus. After graduation, I hope to pursue a residency in ambulatory care or managed care so I can optimize my clinical knowledge from school to treat patients as best as I can. I’ve also been engaged in research at SUNY Downstate to investigate and compare prescribing patterns for acute respiratory infections between 2019 and 2020 (COVID-19), which we are hoping to publish in the upcoming months. Some of my hobbies include finding great food spots, traveling, and watching various shows. I was blessed to study abroad and was also able to go around several countries in Asia just before the pandemic that fostered my curiosity about the impact of culture and values. Nowadays, I like to ride my bike to catch the sunset and go hiking with my friends before the weather gets too cold!
Hi everyone! My name is Vienica, but I also go by Nica. Currently, I work at Walgreens pharmacy and as a copywriter at WildType, a healthcare advertising agency. I enjoy doing both, but especially recently at Walgreens where I've been able to immunize patients for the upcoming flu season. Post-graduation, I plan to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry. My hobbies include staying active, watching shows and movies, and exploring new places. During quarantine, I spent more time in nature, grew sunflowers, and discovered my love for picnics!
Hello everyone, I'm Edmond Young and it's so nice to meet all you guys! I work at Jamaica hospital but have been working in hospitals for more than 2 years now. Before that I worked at CVS for 2 years which I feel gave me an appreciation for all different practices of pharmacy. When I heard about this rotation, I saw that it was different from the others which interested me because I wanted to expand my horizons in terms of the different practices in the field of pharmacy. A couple of my hobbies include playing video games, discovering new music, and traveling. Some of my fondest memories I have are with traveling with friends and family and experiencing the new country and culture. I enjoy making lifelong memories through traveling with the people around me and I hope I can continue to do so as I go forward in life.
Hello everyone! My name is Joana Feng and I am excited to get to know everyone. Currently, I work at Memorial Sloan Kettering and have been an intern there for 2 years. As a pharmacy student, I was involved in various organizations to gain exposure to different fields of pharmacy. I enjoy working in the hospital setting and hope that my APPE rotations will further allow me to discover my interests. In my free time, I like to hang out with my dog, try out new restaurants with friends and travel. I studied abroad second year in Europe and one of my favorite places to travel to was Seville. I hope in the future that I am able to travel and explore places I never been to!
Hi everyone, I am Namosha Mohite. I just started my 6th year and this is my first rotation. I am currently interning at Novartis in their Medical information and Communications department. Post graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry. During this time at home, I have been painting and rewatching a lot of tennis championships (as many got canceled this year). I still have a while to graduate, but upon graduation, considering the current conditions, my plan is to go straight to working and may be take short vacations whenever I get a chance. I studied aboard in my 2nd year and absolutely loved Rome, so I hope to go back there sometime in the future.
Lastly, congrats to all of you, you all are almost there!
Hey Denise! I am very excited to meet you and to learn about you and your hospital experience. I love trying new foods too, so I am looking forward to the outdoor setup as well!
Hi everyone, my name is Denise Cotter! Right now I work at St. Francis Hospital and I've been there for almost 3 years come June. I've really enjoyed working there and I hope to pursue a job in the hospital setting after graduation. In my free time I like hang out with friends and try new foods/restaurants. I am looking forward to things slowly opening up more with outdoor seating as an option! I wanted to travel a little after graduation but with COVID it's really just taking it day by day because it's so hard to plan for the future right now.
Hello! My name is Niyati Doshi, hope y'all are doing well. I currently work at a specialty pharmacy in which we work with LTC patients (group homes/dialysis centers), transplant patients (liver, lung, heart, kidney), neurology patients, CF/pulmonary patients, and a community setting. I've seemed to gain an interest in that, although I did like my ambulatory care rotation - so I'll have to see which path I'll end up choosing towards the end. During my free time I like to cook/bake and travel. I was hoping to see some US cities this year or maybe travel back to Europe, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to travel and explore again. I'll probably see if I can take some time to travel after graduating instead of going to work straightaway.
Hello everyone, I'm Edward Kim - nice to meet you all! I developed an interest in ambulatory care early on in my studies and I was fortunate enough to participate in 4 ambulatory care rotations this year. But in my free time, I like attend concerts and discover new music and artists. I don't see this pandemic dying down any time soon as new events continue unfolding, but once it's safe to travel again, I'd like to take the time to travel abroad to Europe and Asia.
